project life 2013 | week five

I really enjoyed putting week five together! With the beginning of February, a Valentine photo shoot and cheering for the 49ers, this layout just screamed red!!

For a change, I used a photo as my title card!! Not the first time I've done this, but the first time for 2013. I had this photo of my cup of hot chocolate (we've been enjoying this a lot lately with the cold weather) and it didn't fit into the rest of my layout but I really wanted to use it. I think it looks perfect right where it is!

You wouldn't know it by looking at these photos, but the girls weren't really into having a photo shoot...they just wanted to play Lalaloopsy dolls! Despite that, they looked so cute in their matching t-shirts!! This is the one time I actually do a photo shoot and I always manage to get some amazing pics of them!

And of course, Sunday was the Super Bowl. We were cheering for Daddy's favourite team, the 49ers. He has been a fan since he was a kid, so this was big for him, as they haven't made it to the Super Bowl in over 16 years, at least not since we've been together! I made the girls t-shirts, he wore his Jerry Rice jersey and I wore red. Despite our cheering, they lost! But they played a good second half...after the lights went out :) LOL

I used journaling cards from Miss Tina's Everyday Collection, as well as her Live Free : Love Life collection...both are free downloads! I also used elements from Pebbles - With Love kit.

I changed the background paper too! I wasn't sure if I should, since I was thinking of sticking to a white background all year, but when I added the grey to this layout, it just seemed right!

Thanks for looking!

  1. Gorgeous layout, as always! Can you share where you bought the label flag used on your title card (over the hot cocoa picture)? I have been looking for something similar, with no luck. Thanks :).

    1. Hi Jac,

I actually made that one from an existing label by Crystal Wilkerson. It's from her Too Cute to Spook kit. Originally, it had the words Happy Halloween on it. I removed them and then recoloured and added a white stroke around it. When it comes to labels, there are lots out there and almost every digital kit these days comes with a variety of them. I simply adapt them to suit my needs :) I hope that helps!
